Tullah is a small township in the West Coast Region of Tasmania, surrounded by Mountains, Valleys, Lakes and Rivers, and Ancient Wilderness.
Tullah is two villages from two very distinct eras in Tasmania's history.
Tullah was originally a mining village, where Miners and their families set up a small village in the remote Mountains. Then came Hydro Tasmania, where they created a township next to original Tullah for the Hydro Workers & families, where they were creating the Dams and Hydro systems that we see today here in Tullah. Lake Rosebery in Tullah is a manmade lake but over the decades has blended in so well, you'd think it was always here. It is on Lake Rosebery that the Tullah Challenge kayaking race is held.
In this Blog you will see Photos and videos of the 2007 Tullah Challenge. It is mainly here for people to see what a small Community in remote Tasmania can do for sport enthusiasts who love to be outdoors, and Tasmania has a wealth of Great Outdoors!!
